Because of the Novel Coronavirus/ COVID-19 pandemic, our meetings will be held virtually for the foreseeable future. Before each meeting, we’ll post a new link for that night’s Zoom meeting. You’ll need to check your Journey Writers Workshop email for the link.
All posts by Catherine Brennan.
Catherine published a novel and short story back in the 1990s. Life intervened, and she didn't write for a while. But then she started writing again in 2010 for National Novel Writing Month, and has continued to write in November and throughout the year. She has stories in two Journey anthologies, Drops of Midnight and Other Worlds. She is currently either revising her latest NaNoWriMo novel from 2012, working on short fiction, or posting on her blog, CB's Mojo.2020 Meeting Dates

2019 Meeting Dates TBA
We’ve worked out the meeting times for 2019! Watch this space for the listing.
June 13 meeting canceled
Due to projected low attendance, we won’t be meeting on June 13, 2018. Our next meeting will be June 27 in Glen Ellyn.
Update: Meeting Location Changes
For the remainder of 2018, we’ll be meeting at the Glen Ellyn Public Library.
In the past, we’d tried to alternate between Glen Ellyn and Woodridge, but it’s proved difficult to secure a room in Woodridge.
Venue Change
We weren’t able to get the meeting room at the Woodridge library on March 14 or April 11, so the meetings previously planned for Woodridge will be at the Glen Ellyn library.
Welcome to 2018!
We’ll continue helping each other with our works-in-progress for most of 2018, with meetings alternating between the Woodridge and Glen Ellyn Public libraries. Our starting date is February 28 in Glen Ellyn. The full schedule appears on the schedule page.
Four to Go
We’re still going strong as we near the end of our 2017 Journey Critique Workshop season. As of this post, remaining sessions are:
September 13 in Woodridge
September 27 in Glen Ellyn
October 11 in Woodridge
October 25 in Glen Ellyn
We’re usually off from November through January as many of our members concentrate on National Novel Writing Month, followed by winter holidays. It’s not too late for writers intent on improving their skills to join us, though! If not, keep us in mind for 2018. Our first meeting of the new year will be on February 28, 2018.
Our first meeting of the new year will be on February 28, 2018, at the Glen Ellyn Public Library.
Settling In
We had our first 2017 session, and welcomed several new colleagues. Due to illness or family issues, we had fewer participants than originally expected. Still, it was a valuable session. We had remote participation for the first time, as one of the writers due to be critiqued was just well enough to talk on the phone. It seemed to go well.
So now we’re in it for the long haul. Going forward, meetings will either be held at the Glen Ellyn Public Library or the Woodridge Public Library. See the Schedule menu for details.
